Economist at Jernbanedirektoratet (Norwegian Railway Directorate) with proven understanding of the rail and wider transport industry. Interests within the sector spans both passenger and freight, and range from regulation and welfare economics, to the small technical and organisational changes that can improve the economics of a project or operation drastically. Having also spent time working for Railway Gazette I have extensive knowledge about the railway market situation in the UK, Europe and the worldwide, both within infrastructure and operations.
I am constantly challenging conventional knowledge and looking for solutions where others don’t, often helped by my international experience and previous International Baccalaureate and Philosophy, Politics and Economics schooling. I have lived, been schooled and/or worked in Norway, Sweden, Swaziland and the UK.
While at university and before I have gained extensive experience in leadership and governance of membership led organisations through my role as president for the University of York Octopush Club, member of the trustee board and leader of its HR sub-committee of York University Students' Union and member of various constituting groups for youth democratic groups. I also have considerable experience organising events from university and high school.
